Free Spay/neuter
Talk About It! has partnered with three different clinics to provide free spay/neuter for this event. The clinics have different intake processes. Please read all the information carefully.
Eligibility

Owned cats and dogs only.

Open to all Bexar County zip codes.

Must bring a valid ID.

Must bring proof of rabies vaccination if your pet has had their rabies shot. Pet hasn’t had their rabies shot yet? No problem! The clinics will also be providing free rabies vaccines that day.

Pets must be at least two months old and weight at least two lbs.

Pets must be on leash or crated.

Do not feed your pet after 10:00 p.m. the night before the surgery
Clinic #3: Animal Defense League [UPDATE - CLINIC FULL]
By appointment only. To schedule an appointment please call
(210) 655-1481 Ext:104/112 and specify this appointment is for the free spay/neuter for Bark in the Park – Perrito Grito. Limit two pets per household.
Capacity: 25 cats and 15 dogs

Drop-off: Between 7:00 – 9:00 a.m.
Pick-up: Between 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Services provided: Spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, and e-collar are included for free.
Not included: The pain medication is not included. Please ask about the cost when scheduling your appointment. Additional services available for purchase. For more info, click here.
Clinic #1: San Antonio Humane Society
First-come first-served. No appointment necessary. Line will begin at the front door. Limit three pets per household.
Capacity: Approximately 65 pets. This number is subject to change based on the size of the animals.

Drop-off time: 6:30 a.m.
Pick-up time: 5:00 p.m.
Services Provided: Spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, and pain medication are included for free.
Not Included: The e-collar is not included and costs $5-$11 depending on the size of the animal. Additional services available for purchase. For more info, click here.
Clinic #2: SNAP
Lottery system. No appointment necessary. One lottery ticket will be distributed per household. Numbers will be drawn randomly. Limit one pet per household.
Capacity: Approximately 24 pets. This number is subject to change based on the size of the animals.

Drop-off time: You must arrive by 7:00 a.m. to participate in the lottery.
Pick-up time: 3:00 p.m.
Services Provided: Spay/neuter surgery and rabies vaccination are included for free.
Not Included: The e-collar and pain medication are not included. The e-collar can be purchased for $8 and the pain medication can be purchased for $12. It is required to purchase pain medication for dogs five years and older. Additional services available for purchase. For more info, click here.
